I just heard of this pioneers passing. His early chardonnays were long leesy acid driven gems. I tried the 1982 vintage in 1992 and it was like a complex brilliant wine to me.

Thanks for a brilliant job in the Australian wine industry!

Fond memories of this label, the Chard and Pinot also.

I think his vineyard became Janz and he was credited with one of the earliest sparklings made in Tassie with the help of Roederrer.
