Brokenwood Stanleigh Park Vineyard Semillon 2007

I've been a fan of Hunter Semillon for 25 years now, with McWilliams and Tyrells providing most of my drinking pleasure over that time. I've had a few Brokenwoods, but have not investigated them as thoroughly.

The 2007 Stanleigh Park is a delicious wine. 10.5% alcohol and under screwcap. Pale yellow colour belies its 8 years of age, and it is clear as a bell. The nose is a little shy, and shows lemon, honeysuckle, a little beeswax (but not honeyed) and lanolin. The palate has cleansing acidity, more clean lemon, good length, and no sign of development - this could be a 3 year old, not 8.

I think I've opened this too soon and I suggest you could easily leave it another 5 years
