2007 Schloss Lieser Riesling Kabinett #3, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer (screwcap): 9% alc. Paleish straw/green. Lovely nose with apple, grass, lemon blossom, chrysanthemum, a touch of smoke, caramel & apricot with breathing, the palate juicy and sweet with a long, crisp finish. Maybe a little botrytis here, but overall it is quite pristine and beautiful drinking with nicely balanced acidity, and absolutely no sign of sulphur/reduction mentioned in some early online comments that I read. On this form it could possibly be a good 21st birthday wine for someone with this birthyear - a little staggering considering this is just the Estate wine, it genuinely outguns some of the higher placed wines in the portfolio.
