2015 Coates The Chardonnay

2015 Coates The Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills (screwcap): 13.5% alc. Pale straw/green. Quite reserved and elegant nose of grapefruit, grass and a touch of melon, with very subtle, spicy oak in the background; the palate packs more of a punch, grassy on entry followed by rich melon fruit and sweet, nutty oak, finishing grassy, a little yeasty and long with crisp, crunchy acidity, touches of peach and nougat. Good stuff.
